The Name of the Game

If it’s the 9th inning and you are one touchdown behind, your problem may not be in how you are playing the game but in how you are keeping score.
There are five steps in successfully achieving a goal. The first is setting the goal itself. The fifth and last is how you keep score. All too often when we feel we are not succeeding in business we overreact and change the goal. A more productive response is to begin by verifying that we are properly using the right standard for measuring our progress or success. If we are, the next step is to look at the previous step and verify that it is valid and so on. The last step is to evaluate the goal.
Try this step by step process when you feel you are not succeeding and see if it not only saves time and money, but makes goal setting easier and more productive for you.
